Road Closures

The Date

The Hull Marathon powered by Eon Visual Media & Brainworks  begins from Humber Bridge at 9am, Sunday 22 September 2019. The Fun Run in association with BBC Radio Humberside starts at 10:30am in East Park.

Please make a note of this date, consider your plans for the day and if the Marathon will affect them or not.

Following consultation with the local authorities, the route will be run on mostly closed roads. The route has been amended for 2019 following a review with the authorities.  Please be aware of reduced access to some areas and a need to take alternative routes.  By following suggested diversion you’ll minimise delays to your journey.

Note that roads are closed safely before the first runner may appear to allow time to clear traffic in all directions safely.

Things Can Change

Please check the website for any changes before the day and be patient with the race teams on the ground, most of them are volunteers from clubs and organisations who have volunteered their time to assist the runners and help you if they can. They may not know the answers to all of your questions but will do their best.

Plan Your Journey

In order to ensure your travel plans are not affected, we recommend using our interactive Google Map. Consider, where possible, making your journey at a time outside the event hours and parking off the route if you need access to your vehicle during the event. Be aware some bus services will be affected so check with Stagecoach and EYMS for details of revised timetables/stopping points.

Be Proud Of Your City

This is the 5th year the Hull Marathon has been running as we continue to reflect our status as the UK City of Culture. The event will see many runners raising funds for charities and bring new people to the city who contribute to the economy. We encourage you to embrace the day, get out onto the streets and support the runners. Whilst there may be disruption to your normal Sunday life we hope for one day of the year you see something you can be proud of.

Runners have consistently said how well supported the race is and had high praise for our team of Volunteers. If you’d like to volunteer, please check our Volunteers Page for more details.

Thank You

We would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused and thank you for supporting the Hull Marathon 2019.
