The Race

UKA Race Licence – 2022-44693

We will look forward to welcoming you all back to the city and the Hull Marathon & Relays on 25 September 2022. This year’s race takes in 2 stadiums, 5 parks, the Humber Estuary, Hessle Town Square and the icon Humber Bridge. The 2022 race will feature the Yorkshire Veterans Athletic Association Marathon Championships and any Veteran belonging to a YVAA Affiliated club will get automatic entry to the YVAA Championships when they enter the Marathon.

Runners can do the full marathon (26.2 miles) or make up a team of 4 people.

All runners will receive a medal and T-shirt plus other goodies.

The event has a 7 hour cut off.  Note anyone expecting a time of over 6 hours will be started at 7am and use the footpaths within the first part of the course until road closures are in place.

All winners receive a trophy plus cash and/or vouchers worth the following:

Marathon (solo)

Top 5 male and female

1st £200

2nd £150

5th £25

1st place male and female in the following:

Under 21, Vet 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, 70, 75+ each receive £25

Additional, YVAA will award a trophy to the top 3 in each age group from V40 to V85

2 person Relay:

1st place male team; female team; mixed team: £50

4 person relay:

1st place men’s team; female team; mixed team (any combo): £80

Parking:

Parking will be available around West Park with a shuttle bus service between the finish area and car parking afterwards.  We are working on additional parking options.

Shuttle Buses:

There will be a free bus service for relay runners between the 3 change over points at Costello Stadium (7.7 miles); Barton upon Humber Market Place (6.6 miles); Waterside Country Park (5.7 miles) with the final leg being 6.2 miles.

Spectators can also use the shuttle buses to traverse the course with an additional drop off for Hessle Square – £5 per person to hop on and off as you like.

Baggage

Baggage drops will be at the start of the marathon to move baggage to the finish.

Other features

We will be working with local musicians to bring you entertainment along the course. More details will follow.
